Frequently Asked Questions
What is enamel jewelry?
Enamel is glass fused to metal in a kiln at temperatures around 1300F, in some cases that metal is hand pierced copper, and others fine or sterling silver- the product information for each piece will specify the base metal. Enamel jewelry should be stored in a box (especially when traveling) to avoid chipping or cracking. If care is exercised when storing your enamel jewelry it will last you a lifetime!
How do I care for an oxidized finish?
Oxidized silver is a an applied chemical finish to sterling or fine silver to darken the entire piece- you can think of it as pre-tarnishing the jewelry. I do this because the finish is even and beautiful, and it also takes away the burden of polishing your piece. Never polish oxidized silver, seriously- don’t use anything. If you drip ketchup on your favorite necklace, just rinse in warm water with soap, a soft toothbrush can be used to get in the crannies. Over time, an oxidized finish will begin to wear away on high points of your jewelry, we call this the patina of wear and it’s a beautiful feature of handmade jewelry and unique to you!
Where can I see your jewelry in person?
Since COVID I have stopped in person events, but I have a lovely selection of galleries around the US that carry my work, check out the stockists page to find one near you.
I have a gallery, do you wholesale?
Yes! I love working with galleries and small boutiques, send me an e-mail and let’s get some colorful jewelry in your cases!
Do you make custom work?
The answer is…sometimes. I spend a lot of time designing and creating and often can’t fit custom work into my schedule. However, if you find the perfect pair of earrings on my website, but you’d like them in blue enamel instead of green- drop me a line, I’m happy to accommodate those requests when possible.
