Carnelian Branch Drops
These oxidized fine silver earrings were cast in sand from a model made in hot glue. Yes, you read that correctly-hot glue! Doodling with hot glue is a fun way for me to work out ideas quickly and with some dimension, I loved these branch forms so much I cast them in fine silver and set a large rosecut carnelian stone to swing from the branch. These earrings have a post finding and a heavily textured surface which reflects both the layering of the glue in the original model and the organic nature of sand casting.
Measurements: 2.75”L, .75”W
